Environmental Affairs Committee of Student Government
- The Environmental Affairs Committee of Student Government works towards the aims outlined in each student body president’s environmental affairs platform. This most often means collaborating efforts between many other campus organizations/administrators/university offices, and institutionalizing environmental change on campus through policy change and advocacy.

Sierra Student Coalition (SSC)
- The SSC basically aims to be an effective group at promoting environmental change and using student activism to affect policies at the university, local, and sometimes state level. We are an outgrowth of the Coal-Free UNC campaign, and we are primarily involved in energy issues and working to transition from a dirty energy economy to a clean energy future. UNC students interested in environmental politics, policy and activism should come check us out!

Renewable Energy Special Projects Committee (RESPC)
- RESPC, or Renewable Energy Special Projects Committee, works with student funds to increase the use of renewable energy and sustainable practices through funding of: renewable energy, energy efficiency, maintenance, and energy education projects on campus.

EcoReps
- EcoReps is a student led organization that is committed to providing campus-wide peer-to-peer outreach in support of UNC Chapel Hill’s many sustainable practices, programs, and options. EcoReps strives to make environmental, economic, and social sustainability a core value for all Carolina students. By engaging directly with students from every corner of the campus community, EcoReps seeks to create universal awareness and support for campus sustainability.

Greek Sustainability Council
- The Greek Sustainability Council is centered on fostering environmentally friendly practices within the Greek community. The group consists of members from all the Greek chapters. We focus primarily on recycling and waste reduction at Greek houses and putting on “green” events within the Greek community.

Roosevelt Institute Center on Energy & Environmental Policy
- The Roosevelt Institute Campus Network is a national initiative to engage college students in progressive policy-making. The UNC chapter has been consistently recognized as one of the top chapters in the country, and the Center on Energy & Environmental Policy works to promote progressive and innovative policies on the campus, local, state and national level that will help guide the transition to a clean energy economy with stronger protections for our natural environment.

HOPE Gardens
- HOPE Gardens is a hybrid community garden/ urban farm that aims to bridge the gap between the low-income/homeless population and the broader Chapel Hill and Carrboro communities. We ran a transitional employment program two summers ago, and we are looking forward to initiating one for this upcoming summer. We will also be actively pursuing becoming our own 501(c)3 over the 2011-2012 school year!

Epsilon Eta Environmental Fraternity
- Our fraternity was founded in order to recognize and connect outstanding students whose primary academic focus is the environment, and/or who express a significant environmental interest in the way they conduct their lives. We aim to provide them with a network of support and opportunities during and after their academic career at Carolina. We are an honors fraternity with simultaneous emphasis on service, social, and networking activities in many different areas of environmental concern (a focus theme is chosen for each semester, ex. “green transportation” or “reduce, reuse, recycle” etc.)

Fair Local Organic (FLO)
- FLO is an activist group that focuses on all aspects of food sustainability. We plan educational and service events in the community and on campus. Another main focus is our work with the University to change food purchasing. We additionally do many social events within the group involving food.

Students Working for Environmental Action and Transformation (SWEAT)
- SWEAT is committed to defending social justice through environmental initiatives. Our mission is to empower individuals to build strong communities rooted in the environment through education, physical challenge, and service. Our initiatives include partnering with the Rogers-Eubanks Neighborhood Association (RENA) on their food ministry and community garden projects, as well as a waste reduction and awareness-raising campaign on campus and in the Chapel-Hill community.
