My name is Nikita Shamdasani and I’m a sophomore from the wonderful city of Fayetteville, NC! I’m a Global Studies and Political Science double major (for now) with a minor in Business Administration. I’m honored to serve as the Student Body Secretary this year!
From the second I stepped on the Carolina’s campus, I fell in love with it. I know how cliché that sounds, but it’s amazing to me that we can have so many of the resources of a large public university, but still can find such a small community feel. It’s my job to make sure that Student Government continues to promote that cohesive feel on campus through public and private outreach.
If I’m not in the Student Government Suite (which is rare, since I basically live there), you’ll find me in the Pit (my favorite place on campus), eating frozen yogurt on Franklin, or running around to meetings for some of the other organizations in which I am involved, like Tea Talks, the Eve Carson Scholarship, the Roosevelt Institute, or the Honors Student Executive Board. Other interests of mine involve following national politics, inventing crazy schemes, and hanging out with friends.
I love meeting new people and trying new experiences, so please feel free to reach out to me (nshamdas@live.unc.edu) if you ever want to talk! The other officers are I are avid email checkers, so we promise to be responsive!
Go Heels!
Nikita
